The Adventurer BBQ Rub by McAdventures – 200g Shaker

All flavour. No pepper.

The Adventurer is my all-purpose BBQ rub, made with no pepper. You get smoky paprika, a lift of orange and lemon, and a warm ginger finish. It's mild, so the whole family can eat it, and it goes on beef, chicken, pork, lamb, seafood and veg.

How I use it: prep your meat, shake on an even coat, and let it sit while the coals get going. It already has salt in it, so you don't need to salt as well. It works just as well in a pan, the oven or the air fryer as it does over charcoal.

I designed it from feedback at my demos, listening to what whole families like and don't like. It's blended in small batches by Black Market Spice Merchants. 200g shaker.

Ingredients: salt, raw sugar, garlic, onion, smoked paprika, ginger, orange, lemon, chilli, dill, coriander, citric acid.

Way more than a BBQ rub

  • Morning eggs

Chicken, pork, steak, prawns and fish, on the coals or in the pan.

  • Roast veg

Toss with a little oil before it goes in the oven.

  • Air fryer chips

Shake it on straight out of the basket.

How to use it

Pat the meat dry, shake on an even coat, and let it sit while your coals get going. Cook over medium heat. For a glaze, brush on The Trailblazer in the last few minutes.

Already salted the meat overnight? Use a lighter coat. The rub contains raw sugar, so if it darkens too fast over direct heat, move the meat to the cool side.

Best on

Chicken thighs and wings, pork chops, steak, prawns and fish, roast veg, and chips straight from the air fryer.

Shipping & returns

Free standard shipping Australia-wide on orders over $70. Under that, shipping is worked out at checkout based on what you order. Everything goes out with Australia Post. As these are food products, I can't take returns for change of mind. If something arrives damaged or isn't right, get in touch and I'll sort it out. Read my full refund policy.

Swap the flavour sachet for The Adventurer. The broth comes out subtle and herby, and nowhere near as salty as the packet version.

  1. Put the noodles in a bowl and set the flavour sachet aside.
  2. Add about 10 g of The Adventurer, roughly 2 heaped teaspoons.
  3. Cover with water and microwave until soft, then stir and let it sit.
